University of Colorado Hospital (Aurora). University of Colorado Hospital is home to the only neuro intensive care unit in the state, where most neuro ICU nurses hold designations as critical care registered nurses or certified neuroscience nurses. UCH was also the first hospital in the nation to implant an intracranial pressure monitor to treat traumatic brain injury. This history of commitment to neurosciences has been recognized, as UCH was ranked No. 26 in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery for 2015-16 by U.S. News & World Report.
