Carle Foundation Hospital (Urbana, Ill.). This 393-bed hospital has achieved Magnet designation for nursing excellence. The Carle Neuroscience Institute offers treatment to patients with varying conditions of the brain, spine and nervous system, including epilepsy and seizures, neurovascular disease and brain and spinal cord tumors. In 2004, Carle Foundation Hospital and Carle Clinic Association teamed up to create the Carle Spine Institute, which is now a regional center of excellence for back and neck problems, according to Carle. Carle Foundation Hospital was ranked among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for neurological surgery by CareChex and also received Healthgrades' Neurosciences Excellence Award for 2016 and the America's 100 Best Hospitals for Stroke Care Award for the last three years.
