Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University (St. Louis). U.S. News and World Report ranked Barnes-Jewish Hospital/Washington University No. 11 in the nation for neurology and neurosurgery for 2015-16. Recognized for treating the most complex strokes and aneurysms, the hospital's stroke and cerebrovascular center is the first Joint Commission-certified Comprehensive Stroke Center in Missouri, and one of the first in the country. The hospital is also home to one of the largest clinical spine care practices in the nation. The center, which treats various spine injuries and disorders, both surgically and nonsurgically, receives patient referrals from around the country for spinal cord treatment.
