Nebraska Medicine (Omaha). Nebraska Medicine is an 809-bed academic health system that consists of two hospitals staffed by more than 1,000 physicians. The system's flagship location — Nebraska Medical Center — is home to the Olson Center for Women's Health, where specialists provide comprehensive care in gynecology, internal medicine and breast care. Specialists provide advanced treatment with 17 ongoing clinical trials for breast cancer patients as well as a 24/7 infusion center. Nebraska Medicine also offers robust labor and delivery services, with a neonatal intensive care unit that has served the local community since 1968. Nebraska Medicine participates in the Nebraska Perinatal Quality Improvement Collaborative, which seeks to improve the delivery of and access to evidence-based healthcare for new moms and their babies. U.S. News & World Report placed Nebraska Medical Center among the top 50 facilities in the country for gynecological services for its 2017-18 rankings.
