WVU Cancer Institute (Morgantown, W. Va.). WVU Cancer Institute, previously known as the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, is a member of the Appalachia Community Cancer Network and West Virginia Cancer Clinical Trials Network, a collaboration of cancer physicians and healthcare organizations dedicated to furthering cancer research and care. In 2015, WVU Cancer Institute diagnosed 2,537 new patients with nearly 20 different types of cancer and the institute's flagship location reported 43,888 patient visits. WVU Cancer Institute has received $730,000 in funding from the Bristol-Myers Squibb Foundation as part of former Vice President Joe Biden's Cancer Moonshoot Initiative; WVU researchers are using the funding to examine care models that will better meet the needs of lung cancer survivors and their caregivers.
