Vanderbilt University Medical Center (Nashville, Tenn.). Vanderbilt University Medical Center is home to the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center. The cancer center was established in 1993 and is one of 27 participants in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Physicians and scientists at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center are also focused on research. The center ranked among the top 20 institutions to receive the most NCI funding in 2016 with 88 awards totaling more than $47 million.
