UPMC (Pittsburgh). UPMC Hillman Cancer Center includes more than 2,000 physicians, researchers and staff members that care for around 74,000 patients at its 50 locations each year. In 2016, 495 clinical trials took place at the center, supported by $147.8 million in funding. Researchers at the center developed Via Oncology Pathways, a web-based technology that provides evidence-based clinical algorithms to standardize best practices in cancer care. U.S. News & World Report ranked UPMC Presbyterian Shadyside among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cancer care in 2017-18.
