UW Hospital and Clinics is home to the UW Carbone Cancer Center and McArdle Laboratory for Cancer Research, the first cancer research center in the U.S. founded by a university UW Carbone Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and fully accredited breast cancer center in Wisconsin. More than 30,000 patients are seen annually for cancer care across UW Hospital and Clinics. U.S. News & World Report ranked UW Hospital and Clinics among the top 50 hospitals for cancer care in 2017-18.
