UCLA Medical Center (Los Angeles). The UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center was founded in the late 1960s when a group of scientists and volunteers came together to develop UCLA's cancer center. UCLA Medical Center's team of more than 500 physicians and scientists treat approximately 20,000 patients a year. The National Cancer Institute designated UCLA Medical Center a comprehensive cancer center and U.S. News & World Report ranked UCLA Medical Center No. 5 in the nation for cancer care in 2017.
