Providence Portland (Ore.) Medical Center. Providence Portland Medical Center's Providence Cancer Center is accredited by the American College of Surgeons' Commission on Cancer. The center includes the Earle A. Chiles Research Institute, which includes a staff of more than 100 researchers who conduct studies and trials with $4.5 million annually in federal, private and sponsored research funding. The research institute is a founding member of the International Immuno-Oncology Network, a collaborative focused on immunotherapy.
