The Oregon Health and Science University Knight Cancer Institute is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center that functions as the headquarters for SWOG, a cancer research cooperative that supports multidisciplinary clinical trials to prevent, detect and treat cancer. In June 2015, OHSU reached its $1 billion fundraising goal for the Knight Cancer Institute and put the funding toward the recruitment of 250 to 300 scientists and physician investigators. U.S. News & World Report ranked OHSU Hospital among the top 50 in the nation for cancer care in 2017-18.
