Northwestern Memorial Hospital (Chicago). Northwestern University established its first cancer center in 1974, which became the Robert H. Lurie Cancer Center of Northwestern University in 1991 after an endowment from Ann and Robert H. Lurie. Lurie Cancer Center is National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and has affiliations with Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Shirley Ryan Ability Lab and the Jesse Brown Veteran's Affairs Medical Center. U.S. News & World Report ranked Northwestern Memorial Hospital among the top 50 best U.S. hospitals for cancer care in 2017-18.
