Mercy Hospital Springfield (Mo.). Mercy Hospital Springfield is the only children's cancer center in the region and one of seven nationwide to hold an affiliation with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The hospital's C.H. Chub O'Reilly Cancer Center offers a variety of innovative clinical treatments while its affiliated Cancer Resource Center provides patients and families with educational, emotional and spiritual support. Mercy Hospital Springfield partnered with Springfield, Mo.-based CoxHealth to establish Cancer Research for the Ozarks, a cooperative venture focused on cancer research and education that became a National Cancer Institute Community Oncology Research Program in 2014. CareChex ranked Mercy Hospital Springfield No. 2 in Missouri for excellence in cancer care in 2017.
