Mayo Clinic (Phoenix). Mayo Clinic built its Phoenix location in 1998, marking the health system's first campus outside of Minnesota. Mayo Clinic Hospital includes a branch of the Mayo Clinic Cancer Center, which is a National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer center and member of the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. In 2016, Mayo Clinic Phoenix opened Arizona's first proton therapy center, a $370 million, 100,000-square-foot facility dedicated to cancer patients. U.S. News & World Report ranked Mayo Clinic Phoenix among the top 50 cancer programs in the U.S. in 2017-18.
