Penn Medicine (Philadelphia). Penn Medicine Abramson Cancer Center comprises eight locations in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. The program's Basser Center for BRCA, established in 2012, is the first center in the world dedicated to the study of BRCA-related cancers and gene mutations. The National Cancer Institute has designated Abramson Cancer Center as a comprehensive cancer center since 1973. U.S. News & World Report ranked Penn Medicine's Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania-Penn Presbyterian Medical Center among the top 50 cancer programs in the nation for 2017-18.
