Hackensack (N.J.) University Medical Center. Hackensack University Medical Center, part of Hackensack Meridian Health, offers oncology care through the John Theurer Cancer Center. The 155,000-square-foot center, which opened in 2010, has a team of more than 1,200 subspecialized professionals. Together with Washington, D.C.-based MedStar Georgetown University Hospital, John Theurer Cancer Center announced its 100th blood stem cell transplant in June. Hackensack Meridian Health recently launched a clinical decision support pilot program that will deploy IBM's Watson for Oncology and Cota Healthcare's data-driven precision medicine platform to improve cancer treatment recommendations and reduce costs for patients.
