Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center (Knoxville, Tenn.). Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center, Knoxville-based Covenant Health's flagship hospital, provides cancer services through the Thompson Cancer Survival Center. The center was the first to bring cancer clinical trials to East Tennessee more than 25 years ago, and patients today can participate in a dozen different trials for specific types of cancer. In 2016, the American Society of Clinical Oncology recognized Thompson Oncology Group, a division of Thompson Cancer Survival Center, as a Quality Oncology Practice Initiative program.
