Duke University Hospital's Duke Cancer Institute was established in 1973 as one of the original National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers. In 2016 alone, 70,000 patients received treatment at Duke Cancer Institute's six locations. Duke Cancer Institute is home to 300 researchers and physicians who have clinical and research partnerships across the U.S. and in India, China and Singapore. U.S. News & World Report ranked Duke University Hospital among the top 50 hospitals in the nation for cancer care in 2017-18.
