UT Southwestern Medical Center (Dallas). UT Southwestern Medical Center's Harold C. Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center — as designated by the National Cancer Institute — was established in 1991. The center recently received $11 million in additional funding from the NCI to expedite the center's promising work toward the development of an effective drug therapy for kidney cancer. CareChex ranked UT Southwestern among the top 50 hospitals for cancer care in the United States for 2016.
