Moffitt Cancer Center and Research Institute (Tampa, Fla.). Moffitt Cancer Center opened its doors in 1986 and earned Comprehensive Cancer Center status from the National Cancer Institute in 2001. In 2015, Moffitt opened the Moffitt McKinley Outpatient Center less than a mile from its main campus to meet demand for expanded outpatient services. This year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Moffitt as the No. 6 hospital in the nation for cancer care.
