University of Vermont Medical Center (Burlington). UVM, in alliance with the University of Vermont in Burlington, is the state's No. 1 center for stroke care and neurological care according to CareChex. The academic medical center houses centers for memory, pediatric sleep care, neurosurgery and movement disorders and is a designated Blue Distinction Center for Spine Surgery. For the past two years, UVM has secured neurological awards from Healthgrades, including its Cranial Neurosurgery Excellence Award and Stroke Care Excellence Award.
