Frederick (Md.) Memorial Hospital. The Blue Cross Blue Shield Association has designated Frederick Memorial Hospital as Blue Distinction Center+ for Spine Surgery. For 2017, Healthgrades honored the hospital with a Neurosciences Excellence Award for superior outcomes in stroke care and neurosurgery. In 2016, the stroke center at Frederick Memorial was recognized with the Target Stroke Elite and the Get With The Guidelines Gold Plus Achievement Award from the American Heart Association for continual success in stroke care. Frederick Memorial also provides stroke survivors and their families access to a free stroke support group, where survivors and loved ones can share experiences and learn from one another about life after stroke.
