Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is one of the largest nonprofit academic medical centers in the United States, boasting 886 licensed beds, 2,100 physicians, 2,800 nurses and thousands of healthcare workers and employees. From July 1, 2015 through June 20, 2016, the hospital saw 49,690 admissions and 89,371 emergency room visits. In 1976, art collectors with personal ties to the hospital made significant art donations to Cedars-Sinai allowing to the hospital to accumulate an exceptional art collection that now includes more than 4,000 pieces from artistic icons like Andy Warhol, Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. U.S. News and World Report ranked it among the top 20 hospitals in the nation for 2016-17.
