Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler (Texas). Mother Frances Hospital-Tyler is a 425-bed acute care facility serving East Texas. The hospital opened March 18, 1937, to treat hundreds of seriously wounded teachers and children after an explosion rocked New London School about 25 miles outside of Tyler. The hospital offers a range of services, including trauma care and surgical care. In 2014, Mother Frances Hospital was ranked as a 100 Top Hospital and a 50 Top Cardiovascular Hospital by Truven Health Analytics. U.S. News & World Report ranked Mother Frances Hospital as the No. 15 hospital in Texas in its 2014-15 rankings.
