Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont, Minn., is offering a sign-on incentive for nurses and a community referral bonus for all open positions as part of its latest recruitment efforts.
The hospital, which shared information about the programs with Becker's, said the sign-on incentive for nurses will be $3,000 and will be paid after each new employee's start date. Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont is also offering nurses a $2,000 retention incentive, to be paid after three years of employment, based on the start date. This program applies to licensed practical nurses and registered nurses accepting positions in hospital-based nursing departments, including the emergency department, med/surg and family birth center.
Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont said its referral incentive program allows employees of the hospital or community members to recommend people for employment. If a community member refers an individual for an open staff position and that person is hired, the community member will receive $500 on the start date of the referred employee.
"Any person living within the Fairmont service area is eligible to refer candidates and may refer more than one time," the hospital said. "The candidate being referred must not be a current Mayo Clinic employee in any department."
Mayo Clinic Health System in Fairmont has positions open for hospital-based nursing (both RNs and LPNs), in the ED, in the hospital, in the birthing center and in surgical services. There are also open positions for clinic nursing, social work, environmental services, facilities, paramedics, patient care assistants, laboratory techs and assistants, eye care technicians and physical therapy.
Both recruitment programs run through April 30.
