Workers at the soon-to-close Northside Regional Medical Center in Youngstown, Ohio, may participate in various upcoming job fairs, reports WYTV.
The hospital's parent, Dallas-based for-profit hospital chain Steward Health Care System, hosted a job fair Aug. 23 and has another one planned for Sept. 6 at Northside.
The Aug. 23 event drew more than 250 employees by midafternoon, according to the report.
"We have nearly 40 employers here with us today. We also have over 200 within the Steward system, locally. There are hundreds of jobs in the Valley, so we had a great showing of support from our community," Trish Hrina, Steward Health spokesperson, told WYTV.
Cincinnati-based Mercy Health has also scheduled job fair for Northside employees from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 24 at the Jewish Community Center in Youngstown.
Northside is slated to close on Sept. 20.
