Flexibility and work-life balance have the biggest influence on a nurse's decision to remain on the job, according to a 2019 AMN Healthcare survey.
The survey includes 19,967 responses from registered nurses in the United States, collected between March 27 and May 1.
When asked what factors influence job retention, nurses responded:
• Flexibility and work-life balance: 39 percent
• Compensation/benefits: 31 percent
• Colleagues: 17 percent
• Career advancement/growth: 7 percent
• Management: 5 percent
