10 hardest-working US cities, ranked by WalletHub

Anchorage, Alaska, is the nation's hardest-working city, according to an analysis by personal finance website WalletHub.  

To identify the hardest-working cities in the U.S., WalletHub's analysts compared the 116 largest cities on direct work factors and indirect work factors using 10 metrics, such as average workweek hours and average commute time. Each city was graded on a 100-point scale, with a score of 100 representing the hardest-working. Analysts then calculated each city's overall score using its weighted average across all metrics.

Here are the 10 hardest-working cities in the U.S., according to WalletHub.

1. Anchorage, Alaska

2. San Francisco

3. Irving, Texas

4. Virginia Beach, Va.

5. Plano, Texas

6. Denver

7. Aurora, Colo.

8. Austin, Texas

9. Cheyenne, Wyo.

10. Sioux Falls, S.D.
