Unionized workers at Wayne HealthCare in Greenville, Ohio, rejected the hospital's contract offer earlier this month and voted to authorize a strike, according to a Daily Advocate report.
The roughly 110 registered and licensed practical nurses at the hospital are represented by Wayne Professional Nurses Association, an independent union.
Part of the contention stems from increased health insurance expenses, as well as changes in how overtime is calculated.
The contract between WPNA and the hospital expired Aug. 18, and an extension of the contract ended Sept. 30. Negotiations will continue Friday, according to the report.
