Wichita, Kan.-based Via Christi Health has announced plans to cut 4 percent of its workforce, or 350 to 400 positions, by the end of June, according to a KOAM report.
The reductions will be achieved through layoffs and eliminating some vacant positions. Employees who are laid off will be offered severance packages, according to the report.
In addition to reducing the workforce, Via Christi's senior leaders are taking a salary reduction of roughly 4 percent, according to the report.
The system pointed to lower patient volumes as the reason for the cuts.
