The Youngstown, Ohio-based Northside Medical Center nurses who made the news for striking Monday are mostly back at work, according to a report from The Vindicator.
Nurses scheduled to work returned to the hospital 7 a.m. Wednesday.
Due to a lack of specific dates on some letters the Northshore sent to the nurses asking them to return to work, there were speculations that nurses asked to return in three days had been fired, but Northside has announced it is only honoring the 72-hour contracts made with replacement nurses, and nurses not yet back on the job will receive their next assignments after the replacement nurses finish their contracts.
The Western Reserve Building and Construction Trades Council, a construction workers' union, plans to support the nurses by delivering lunch to those asked to come back after three days and who are still picketing, according to a report from local WFMG news.
