Pennsylvania hospitals have lost 2,400 jobs so far in 2015, according to the most recent job numbers from The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania.
Hospitals across the commonwealth lost 700 jobs during February and 1,700 jobs during January.
However, even with 2,400 jobs lost so far this year, Pennsylvania hospitals still provided 268,500 jobs in February, 233,900 of which were at general medical and surgical hospitals, data shows.
According to Pennsylvania Business Daily, the employment changes are attributed to a reduction in inpatient services, as well as reimbursement pressure.
