Nurses Rally Over Lost Labor and Delivery Units at North Central Bronx Hospital

Nurses rallied Monday outside the North Central Bronx (N.Y.) Hospital to protest the closing the hospital's labor and delivery services, according to a Norwood News report.

The rally was supported by members of the New York State Nurses Association and a local community board, according to the report.

Nixing the services won't lead to layoffs, as the services will be consolidated at Jacobi Medical Center in New York City, according to the report.

NCBH delivered 1,600 babies last year, the Norwood News reported.
