The healthcare industry added roughly 19,800 jobs in June, 4,500 of which were in hospitals, according to preliminary seasonally adjusted numbers from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
June's numbers help reverse what happened in May, when hospitals lost about 7,900 jobs, according to the most recent figures from the BLS.
The hospital job gains came in spite of the many layoffs that occurred in the sector last month.
