Altoona Nurses Rally at UPMC Headquarters

Nurses from UPMC Altoona (Pa.) rallied outside UPMC's headquarters in Pittsburgh Thursday after a one-day strike that ended Wednesday, according to a News Times report.

Some of the nurses were blocked from returning to work Wednesday because of UPMC Altoona's contract with temporary nurses who staffed the hospital during the strike.

The rallying nurses said UPMC's actions could be an unfair labor tactic, according to the report. UPMC officials did not provide comment on the rally to the News Times.
