Tennessee hospitals are still dealing with supply and staffing shortages, despite COVID-19 cases dropping across the state, WZTV, a Nashville-based Fox affiliate, reported May 13.
The White House's COVID-19 state profile report for the week ending May 7 showed that 9 percent of hospitals in the state reported supply shortages, while 11 percent reported staffing shortages.
The percentages mean that 10 hospitals in Tennessee reported supply shortages and 13 reported staffing shortages, according to WZTV. The 9 percent supply shortage figure is above the national average of 6 percent, while the hospital staffing shortage figure is 1 percent under the national average.
