UPS Healthcare is opening a new distribution center in Louisville, Ky., with cold chain capabilities to expand global delivery of temperature-controlled healthcare supplies, CBS affiliate WLKY reported Nov. 21.
The facility's cold chain capabilities will allow it to store devices in coolers and a freezer, with temperatures at 20-25 degrees Celsius and minus 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
UPS Healthcare is hiring for 400 positions, but the total number of employees at the facility is undecided.
The center is expected to begin operations by the first quarter of 2022.
