Medline has opened a 1.3-million-square-foot distribution center in Katy, Texas, the Houston Chronicle reported Aug. 2.
The new distribution center will employ almost 400 workers and allow Texas hospitals faster delivery times of critical medical supplies, the Chronicle reported.
"We're excited to grow in Katy, and we are grateful to Waller County leaders who shared our vision to expand here," Bill Abington, Medline's executive vice president for global operations, told the Chronicle. "This facility reflects how we plan to better serve healthcare to increase efficiencies and lower costs."
Medline is one of the largest distribution centers for major hospitals in south Texas, according to the Chronicle, and it distributes more than 300,000 medical devices to hospitals and health systems.
