Medline, a supply manufacturer and distributor that has pledged $4 billion toward supply chain resiliency, will partner with an automated vending company to better track supply and reduce waste.
The Northfield, Ill.-based supplier is teaming up with VendNovation to distribute its Controlled Access Pharmacy unit, according to an Oct. 5 Medline news release. The vending machine scans providers' badges and tracks supply levels as it dispenses pharmaceutical, respiratory and diagnostics products.
Then, the device signals an alert when inventory levels are low. With its products, VendNovation reduces "manual tracking of inventory and EMS providers have reported cost savings exceeding 40 percent," according to the news release.
