Kimberly Clark's new Microcuff Subglottic Suctioning Endotracheal Tube is the first to be cleared by the Food and Drug Administration for saline use to more effectively clear clogs.
The new Microcuff Subglottic ETT's ergonomic valve helps control the rinsing and suctioning to better clear subglottic secretion clogs that can potentially lead to ventilator-associated pneumonia. It also helps reduce microaspirations and cross-contamination between patients and physicians, according to the company.
