Marlborough, Mass.-based Hologic will purchase the medical aesthetics company Cynosure for $1.65 billion, reports Reuters.
Here are four things to know.
1. Westford, Mass.-based Cynosure develops products used in noninvasive body contouring, hair removal, skin revitalization and women's health. The company generated $433.5 million in revenue for 2016, having posted 28 consecutive quarters of year-over-year top-line growth.
2. Hologic develops diagnostic and surgical products, along with medical imaging systems mainly focused on women's health.
3. The deal is expected to close in March or April 2017.
