CVS Pharmacy rolled out a free same-day prescription delivery service in New York City's Manhattan borough this week.
Here are three things to know.
1. CVS CEO Larry Merlo first announced plans for delivery services in November, with Manhattan stores being the first location to offer same-day delivery.
2. Select CVS locations in Miami, Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco will also offer same-day delivery, while next-day delivery services will roll out at stores nationwide in 2018.
3. Through the same-day delivery service, Manhattan residents can have prescriptions and other over-the-counter products delivered to their homes in secure, tamper-proof packaging from any CVS store in the area. Deliveries will arrive within four hours of ordering.
"Free, same-day prescription delivery gives customers the option of having the pharmacy they trust deliver right to them at their homes or work in Manhattan," said Helena Foulkes, executive vice president of CVS Health and president of CVS Pharmacy. "Delivery is another way that we can meet our customers wherever, however and whenever they want in order to make healthcare easier."
