Becton, Dickinson and Company has acquired Edwards Lifesciences' critical care product group. The addition will be renamed BD Advanced Patient Monitoring.
The medical technology company's new business unit includes AI-enabled products, BD said in a Sept. 3 news release. The acquisition of California-based Edwards Lifesciences cost $4.2 billion.
Katie Szyman, who has served as corporate vice president of the business under Edwards since 2015, is now worldwide president of BD Advanced Patient Monitoring.
