Baxter International Issues Voluntary Recall of 5% Dextrose, 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection Solutions

Deerfield, Ill.-based Baxter International has issued a voluntary recall of certain lots of its 5% Dextrose Injection and 0.9% Sodium Chloride Injection due to particulate matter in the solution.

If used, solutions containing particulate matter could possibly block blood vessels and cause a stroke, heart attack or organ damage, according to the news release.

Affected lots were distributed to customers between May 2012 and October 2013.

The specific recalled lots are listed on the news release.
