A new hemophilia treatment, a diabetes management app & more: 4 recent FDA approvals

Four drugs or medical devices approved by the FDA since Feb. 15:

1. Hygieia, a digital insulin enhancement company, received FDA clearance for its phone app that helps optimize insulin management for patients with Type 2 diabetes.

2. Keytruda received expanded use approval for the treatment of patients with melanoma with involvement of lymph nodes.

3. Premixed vancomycin injection, which is in a ready-to-use bag, for the treatment of nonpregnant patients to treat bone infections, skin infections, infective endocarditis and more.

4. Esperoct, a hemophilia A treatment, is approved for use in adults and children to reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes.
