Progress West HealthCare Center in O'Fallon, Mo., part of St. Louis-based BJC HealthCare, announced it has changed its name to Progress West Hospital.
The name change is intended to more clearly reflect its comprehensive service offerings, as local market research by the hospital showed consumers were confused about the term "healthcare center," but recognized that a hospital offers full services, according to the report.
In addition to the name change, Progress West Hospital's logo will also include the name Barnes-Jewish St. Peters (Mo.) Hospital, which is in the same county and also part of BJC HealthCare. The co-branded logo is designed to show that BJC care is in the community, according to the release.
