The four-year strategic plan includes an updated mission statement that prioritizes creating a comprehensive clinical data store; developing and deploying information management tools; and hosting collaborative research initiatives.

HSSC also set performance targets, including adding data for a minimum of 60 percent of South Carolinians to the clinical data warehouse; engaging at least five member organizations in using the CDW for research and/or clinical purposes; and becoming a self-sustaining enterprise through an expanded portfolio of research and demonstration grants.

The systems under HSSC include Greenville Hospital System University Medical Center in Greenville, Palmetto Health in Columbia, Spartanburg Regional Healthcare System in Spartanburg, McLeod Health in Florence, AnMed Health in Anderson and Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood.
