HCA's Memorial Hospital in Florida to Build New ED

Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, Fla., part of Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA, plans to open a new, freestanding emergency room later this year, according to a Jacksonville Business Journal report.

The 11,000-square-foot facility will include 12 beds, a dedicated pediatrics area and other features.

The hospital decided to build the ED based on community support, an economic incentive package from the county and perceived community need.
