Minneapolis-based Allina Hospitals & Clinics announced the ground breaking of a new emergency department at WestHealth, an outpatient center in Plymouth, Minn.
The 18,000-square-foot facility will connect to WestHealth and will be staffed by physicians from Allina's Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis. The project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.
The new ED is part of a long-term development project that will include a new transitional care unit and other expansions.
