Allen Hospital in Iowa Settles Discrimination Suit

Allen Hospital in Waterloo, Iowa, has agreed to settle a class-action discrimination suit for $2 million, according to a KWWL report.

The suit was filed in 2010 by a Robyn Meeks, a former employee at the hospital who claimed she was denied a position because she was African American. She has since returned to the hospital as an employee.

Allen Hospital denied any discrimination occurred. A representative of the hospital said the settlement was made to avoid a divisive trial, according to the report.
